Bi-Weekly Blog Post #1

Dear Readers,

My first 2 weeks of school were crazy and hectic but amazing. The stuff we have done in Intro to Publications was very exciting and I know it will be very helpful in my life when I get done with schooling. Throughout my class my brain has been on overload. We go at such a fast pace its hard to get use to it all. But it may be hard, I'm getting into a good cycle with doing all my class and their work they give us. After awhile it'll be a regular thing.

Though the week our focus on the term has been on copyright and learning the way of internet cites and going digital. While I was learning copyright I actually found out what it meant. It's a law that protects a creator’s ownership. Also we learned about was the Fair Use rules. All that says is you have to use others works correctly and you don't plagiarize anything.

I have learned so many web 2.0's. One of the main one we have is Schoology. Some others that are really new would be Quizlet, Codecademy, and Blogger. My teacher is big on doing all of our stuff on any type of technology. Schoology is basically what we do all of our assignments and homework on. Quizlet is where we go to study stems. The Codecademy we learning coding and the language of computers. Through learning the new web 2.0's its affected the way I learn and interact with stuff from school. It's taught me how to be responsible and be more independent.

A positive aspect of our new web tools is it helps us better understand how the computer and internet really works. It has us on technology learning more about it everyday. Also, it teaches us we have to keep up with our stuff and responsibility. Then the more we start using the computers the less we'll be cutting down trees and messing up the environment. A negative aspect is we'll let the technology start controlling our everyday life too much.

All of this new information has affect my personal/academic life greatly. It's made it better to know that my teachers a more about incorporating our everyday life into our school life. Also, it surprised me at how much were doing on the computers, laptops, and our cell phones. Then having our teachers trust us with going on the internet and interact with different stuff is really amazing. It shows everybody that maybe teachers actually like us!
